nessthehero Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 Running latest version of ubuntu, and I got the Tekkit server set up correctly (yay) Problem is . . . I can't find the freakin world folder anywhere! Where is it normally placed by default? I have the jar file in /opt/tekkit/, but all that is in there is the normal 4 folders that come with the download. Any guidance would be great.
nessthehero Posted September 17, 2012 Author Posted September 17, 2012 Apparently it placed everything in /root/. Odd.
Andrew Nederhoff Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 Just a quick heads up. If you start the server from the root folder, that is where it will put the world info. For some reason on linux it places the world info in whatever folder you are currently when you start the server.
andrewdonshik Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 It does that on Macs too, and it's a pain.
nessthehero Posted September 17, 2012 Author Posted September 17, 2012 I ended up realizing the error of my ways later. I run the server in a screen, which essentially resets pathing information. What I should have done was cd to the directory I wanted and then ran the launch script from there. I need to write auto-run scripts anyway so I can quick restart the server if I need to reboot, so I'll just move all the world files (and hope it doesn't break anything.)
