wkw427 Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 Apologies if this is the wrong forum. But is there a way I can launch a specific build (tekkit, technic) from a shortcut, without having to first load the launcher, then the client?
Xylord Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 Not really, since to be legal, the launcher always has to check your account information.
wkw427 Posted September 23, 2012 Author Posted September 23, 2012 Well, then a shortcut to launch the launcher, log you in, and then start the client. I find it silly how you need to launch launcher, log in, and wait for it to load.. AFIK the vanilla minecraft does this or used to do that..

What if there is an update, you want to change of modpack, go in the options, or change account?
wkw427 Posted September 23, 2012 Author Posted September 23, 2012 Another shortcut to launch the launcher normally :)
Xylord Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 Another shortcut to launch the launcher normally But now that I think about it, that wouldn't really save you any time. You only save the second it takes you to click the login button.
Nolz Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 Even if you're too lazy to hit the login button, it shouldn't be too hard to write a small program that boots the launcher, selects a modpack and hits Login
freakachu Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 as far as I know, this isn't something the launcher can do. however, it is open source and on git hub, so you are welcome to add this functionality yourself. it may even get implemented into the main branch, who knows?
