Question

Launcher Version: 1.0.1.3

Operating System: windows office (i believe)

Java Version: the latest one, i re-installed it a few times, i checked 32 or 64 bit and all that, not sure what the version's called

Antivirus Program:

Description of Problem:

ive had alot of problems, when i download the techniclauncher, it doesnt download its files properly, so i copied the files of somone else's computer (refreshed, so no last-logins or anything) because otherwisei cant even GET tekkit, nexti cant use the launcher.exe, that just doesnt do anything, so i have to use the .jar in my .techniclauncher, then it takes FOR-EVER to load up, longer then normal (i was able to do everything without issues at all a few weeks ago), and when i do finnaly get to my launcher, it says tumblr feed is down, everytime, and when i try to connect, it says my account cant be authenticated to minecraft.net, but when i try that on normal minecraft, i CAN just normally connect, (and yes, i bought minecraft, so i dont have anything cracked)

Error Messages:

"unable to authencticate account with minecraft.net"

"windows office" is not an operating system. You are using either Windows Vista or Windows 7.

Regardless, your Java is partially corrupt. You must uninstall (using the control panel tools) *all* versions of Java. Then download Java 7u7 64-bit and install it. Then try your launcher again. And if possible, you should *always* change your computer's settings to English before pasting errors, because this forum is staffed mostly by people who don't know Dutch.

Now, once you've got Java fixed and you no longer have the Dutch-language crashing error, you need to take yourself to minecraft.net and either get your Minecraft password reset or purchase an account. Technic will only work if you have a premium Minecraft account, we're not in the business of piracy.

thank you for your reply. and dont worry, i have purchased minecraft, long time ago, i recently changed my password already, about a month or 2 back, after it stopped working, but all that time inbetween i was able to copy my friends tekkit, also purchased minecraft, and my tekkit could do SSP only, after i booted it up twice every time, so that was bugged level to the ground xD. i deleted all of that a few times to try again, and i will keep deleting it with every attept i do at fixing tekkit, since is a "cracked" tekkit, a copy of a legal one, until my legal one works

now, regarding your tips, i have Vista on my computer, ifound out, but im not entirely sure how to delete EVERY bit of java, i can only find my latest update to delete, or is that the whole bunch?

as for the dutch part, unsure how to change it to english offcially, but i will trnaslate it for you,:

and for the rest; versie means version, and the rest are titles of my computer parts/files, so you cant translate that, as they are names.

i hope my translation will suffice, tomorrow i will look into switching my programm to english, after school, might take some time.

i should add; right NOW i have a COMPLETELY RESET and redownloaded copy of tekkit from that friend, so without any names or last-logins, and it actually WORKS, except for the fact that my account cant authenticate to minecraft.net, so even IF my corrupted java is fixed, and my tekkit will download properly, will that fix my account?

a few months ago we had a hacker on our vanilla minecraft server, of wich i was head Admin, and trough cheating its was to admin, he got into our console, and fucked around in it, a week later, my minecraft accoutn didnt work, and i changed my password then (as mentioned before) and since then, my NORMAL minecraft has been working fine, so i dont really think my account just isnt there or anything, and the NOMRAL minecraft -> minecraft.net link works...

hope that is helpful

If your password and login work with the regular minecraft launcher, then they will work with the Technic launcher. Use your own information and download your own completely fresh tekkit. We can't help you if you're using a cracked copy as that would help any pirates that wish to steal Minecraft.

again, thank you for your time, i appreciate it, but as i mentioned before, im not using a illegal cracked one, im using a copy from a legal one, and i have bought minecraft myself aswell, but thats the not the problem im having to issue with, because i want my OWN legal copy to work.

when i try to download "my own" legal copy, it doesnt download it, when i run the tekkitlauncher, it will crash with that JIT error, wich basiclly says that it cant find the requested files, and only one file shows in .techniclauncher when i look in there, so my tekkitlauncher doesnt download every file, so i tried copying the files of someone else, you'd say that that would work, but then i cant authenticate minecraft.net. and its not my internet, cuz when i try normal minecraft directly after, it works just fine, and again, me, and my friend both have purchased minecraft, and i get that copying WHOEVER's is piracy, and im not a fan of it, but you'd think it work.

that aside, ive looked around on the forum, and i cant find anyone with the same problem as me, so im 90% sure its my computers, or my "sides" fault, ive found the java part, deleted EVERYTHING and redownloaded everything, then deleted and redownloaded EVERY single bit of tekkit on my computer, along with the "false" parts again, and tried it, but it still doesnt work, i get the same problem when i run my tekkit launcher, the only file that it downloads is the tekkitlaucnher.jar, and vurthermore by .technic;auncher is empty.

when i run that .jat, it says loading, then continus the the techniclauncher banner ( the grey blue one) and freezes, ive let it run when i went to school, for about 7 hours, and it managed nothing

so im clueless on what to do now,

in about now and 4 months ( my birthday) i will be ale to save up enough money for a new computer, something ive planned a looong time back, a real gaming computer,

and i think everything will just work from there on out, but i dont want to be stuck on the bugged/"cracked" SSP only tekkit for 4 months, while i should be able to have "my own" legal copy, and SMP in there.

okay might scrap that

i fucked something over bigtime, and now im REALLY clueless

i typed in "my computer" the word java to REALLY delete every single bit of java, and that worked, sort of;

i re installed java, but when i try to run the technic launcher, i get further then last time but the error now is "cant find java directory" so i might've, just a tiny tad, deleted that by excsident,

eeeeh... oops?... to be real honest, i have no idea how to get it back, if normal reinstalling doesnt work, do i need to remake the folder myself? if so, where do i do that?

btw THIS is why theres a forum, because otherwise you'd have a hundred people like me doing dumb sh*t. be happy its just one for now xD

Delete your .techniclauncher folder. Uninstall java. Then download the correct version of java for your computer (this is why you got the "can't find" error). Reinstall the technic pack. Starting a fresh/clean reinstall almost always works, for nearly all bugs. Make sure you are installing the correct version of java for your computer. The sticky COMMON PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS explains this.

And please, in the future use pastebin to post long logs, and use the edit button to avoid multi posting.

That's not what you were asked to do. I asked you to use the control panel to uninstall Java.

This problem is listed in the common problems thread, and it means solely that your install of Java is corrupt. Did you download Java 7u7 x64 from http://java.com/download as I told you to?

Oh, if only it truly was just one. Your problems are not unique, they are not new, and they are not Technic's fault. They are solely because you and hundreds of other people exactly like you refuse to read and carefully follow directions. In fact if you continue to have problems with this simple task, I suspect Tekkit is not suited for your level of computer proficiency.

yes, i did download the new java, thats why im puzzled, its not that i dont know anything about computers, its just that when i do something that SHOULD work, it doesnt.

alas, i re downloaded the new java, and it still cant find the directory.

and i never claimed that my problems are tekkit's fault, nor did i cliam it was ANYONE's fault but mine, if only i knew where the first problems came from, because it all worked perfectly, un till i went on holiday, 2 weeks later when i got back, things didnt work as they should, but most things got fixed ( like my normal minecraft), the only thing that didnt was tekkit.

and i guess youre right about the fact that im not the only one, well... dúh, its just that THIS goes a bit above my computer proficiency, because like i said before, i have done what you told me to, and it doesnt work, so thats whats puzzling me.

the thing is, my java is re installed, i can even make a screenshot of the "your java has succesfully installed" screen if you want me to do the excact same thing again, and even THEN, when i run the technicklauncher, at a 100%, i get the error " cant find java directory", with no other option then "okay", and that just closes it all off

What I want are screenshots of your "C:\Program Files\Java\jre7" folder and of your "Programs and Features" window with Java 7u7 highlighted. Because "Can't find Java directory" means that a) there's no Java available from your registry, B) there's no Java findable in your program files folder, and c) there's no Java in your path.

first things first, after i deleted my java the inproper way, i did a system rollback (and before you start, there was no date in my list to a time where tekkit still worked), and when that had finished, i deleted every java thing i could find in my control panel, wich i even looked up to know for sure i was doing the right thing, then i re downloaded the java 7u installer ( as ive marked on the first screenshot, along with the giant error for good measure)

then; when i run the java installer i get the error from the first screenshot

and the second one is what youve asked for, my java 7 folder, as shown in the screen, it just ISNT THERE. . . for what reason? no idea.

the only version thats you can see is the java6 version, wich is wierd, since i deleted it trough control panel, but even then, if there is no java7, why wont it install it?

Okay. Now. For the third time I will give you a very simple set of instructions, and you will follow them exactly, without doing anything else in the middle.

Open your control panel and uninstall every Java version that exists there. Reboot your computer. Now open C:\Program Files and delete the Java folder. Reboot again. Now go to java.com/download and download Java 7u7. When it finishes downloading, install it. Now reboot a third time and screenshot your C:\Program Files\Java\jre7 folder and "Programs and Features" window again.

done all of that precisely like you described it

http://imgur.com/a/rLDND

and thats my result, looks promising (also better screenshot quality, fixed the format)

the reason i deleted my java the inproper way in the first place, was because i over-read something in your post, my bad

but i can assure you that my "computer profiency" is even with, or higher then the average computer user, the fact that i have made some mistakes in translating it to dutch screwed me over

although i can also assure that my big number of misspells is just the result of my too fast typing, i hope you can excuse me for those two things

There's one thing you did wrong, and in fairness I only mentioned this part twice. If you're on a 64-bit computer, you must use 64-bit Java. You installed 32-bit.

Zing! But seriously OP this is like the first thing we tell everyone around here and you failed even after being told twice...

Okay, now we're getting somewhere, thank you. Now let's go to your %AppData% folder and delete the ".techniclauncher" folder in it. Then re-download the technic launcher and run that. This should actually work this time.

i thought it'd work too, so im back to "wtf"

but.. i AM on 32-bit, thats what it told me when i did the "what java do i download" test thingy, also my page didnt load properly, so i sent you another reply, ignore it.

but if youre saying that my java should be 64, do i need to repeat the process of control panel, rebooting, installing, rebooting and running it as 64?

or does java have something that automaticly changes my files and replaces them with the proper 64 ones?

will try tomorrow tho, sleep, then school first

EDIT; i just read back into the page, and yes you did mention it once, but for some reason i do not recall it saying it before, and please, i only need 1 person to tell me i did something stupid, 2 i not really all that great, but 3? come on guys, gimme a break im not highly intellegent or something, it takes tiem for things to process, just like most humans
