Awackypenguin Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 When I try to make a "Compact, Self-Sufficient Hydro Pyramid" (as seen on the wiki), the energy link doesn't seem to want to power the pump (which is right under it). The pump works fine if I give it engine power, and the energy link works fine for the quarry. But for the quarry, the energy link is next to the quarry on not on top of it. Is it possible that the energy link can't give power to something under it? Pictures: From wiki: Mine (so far. No point in going on as it refuses to be self sufficient): http://imgur.com/a/IJYHD Any help would be appreciated!
Mystical1Corn Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 I think you need an wooden conductive pipe between the pump and the energy link, because the wooden pipe sucks the energy in to the pump. Not sure but hope this helps.
BSEUNHIR Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 My Quarry works perfectly with direct contact, not sure what's going on here.
Mystical1Corn Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 Maybe the pump acts differently or something.

MasterVentris Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 I think you might need to give the system a little kick to get it running. That batbox is outputting upwards so it wont power the link, and the adjacent water mills(?) wont power the link either without any water in them. Try manually loading some water into the mills to get the system generating power and see if that triggers the pump. EDIT: Those are water strainers aren't they? So you cant manually place water in. Change one of them adjacent to the link with a water mill and throw a bucket of water in to get it going. Replace the strainer once the system is running. Just tested this and it got the system working for me.

It works fine if the energy link is next to it, but it makes it a lot less compact. Are you doing this in SSP or SMP?
Wendo Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 Nope, it appears to be a bug, if you use a wooden and gold pipe between the energy link and the pump it works, without it doesn't. Oddly this is only the case in SMP, singleplayer is supposedly ok
