toad1000234 Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 Launcher Version: 1.0.1.3 Operating System: Windows XP SP3 Java Version: 7 update 7; Also latest JRE Antivirus Program: Norton Description of Problem: When I launch the Technic launcher, everything works fine, until I launch ANY of the packs. It gets, and I'm completely serious, 1 frame per minute. I'm thinking this might be a problem with Java, because the normal MC launcher does it too. Error Messages: Error Log:
0 Jorcer Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 If it happens on your regular MC it is not an issue with the Launcher. You could try going into Task Manager and setting Java to run at a higher priority, though I don't know if that will actually work.
0 GreenWolf13 Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 Maybe your computer is just really bad. try getting a new computer/graphics card.
0 toad1000234 Posted October 1, 2012 Author Posted October 1, 2012 I've got an nVidia GeForce 6200, with latest driver installed. I've got 1 gig of ram (i know, horrible) but I was running hack/mine at good res. Vanilla MC through normal launcher doesn't work either, and setting priority has no effect. It was all working three days ago, until I apparently didn't have a good enough video card (weird...). I updated, then it loads, but then doesn't respond. I also got the latest versions of Java and LWJGL. Still no effect.
0 toad1000234 Posted October 1, 2012 Author Posted October 1, 2012 Perhaps MC is compatible with an older version of JRE? Not with the new ones?

0 toad1000234 Posted October 1, 2012 Author Posted October 1, 2012 I'm hoping for more RAM for christmas. BTW, nice kiwi :D
0 andrewdonshik Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 I'm hoping for more RAM for christmas. BTW, nice kiwi Oh, I thought you meant VRAM. I have 8GB of RAM. Thanks.
0 GreenWolf13 Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 8GB of ram? That's, like, almost over 9000 MB! (Sorry for the meme, couldn't help myself).
0 GreenWolf13 Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 8GB is 8192MB. Any other helps? I know, that's why I edited it to say almost over 9000.
0 andrewdonshik Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 8GB is 8192MB. Any other helps? Lower Optifine settings. That's really all you can do, your computer /kinda/ stinks.
0 toad1000234 Posted October 1, 2012 Author Posted October 1, 2012 I beg your pardon, I have everything, EVERYTHING!!! on lowest. Minus the particles. It was working 3 days ago, everything just fine, then it died.
0 toad1000234 Posted October 1, 2012 Author Posted October 1, 2012 Could it be the video card driver?
0 Jorcer Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 Could it be the video card driver? Check for an update I think there might have been one in the past few days. Also, next time use the edit button instead of double posting.
0 toad1000234 Posted October 1, 2012 Author Posted October 1, 2012 I just got newest version of the driver two days ago. After I updated it, then the freeze issue came up. Should I roll back the current driver? and yes, i'll click the edit button instead.

It was working 3 days ago, everything just fine, then it died. It died? Maybe I could use my powers of Necromancy to revive it? To be serious, I think it's a problem with your video card drivers (sounds like minecraft might not support the latest drivers). If that's that case, we can't really help you.
0 toad1000234 Posted October 1, 2012 Author Posted October 1, 2012 yeah, i'll try rolling back. I'll post back if that doesn't work, thanks for all your help. :D
0 Jorcer Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 You could try rolling back, if that doesn't work you can always update again.
0 toad1000234 Posted October 1, 2012 Author Posted October 1, 2012 oh shoot. I just remembered, the whole reason this fiasco started was because MC displayed an error message when starting up, something about not finding an advanced openGL mode... Which had never happened before. When I updated video card drivers, that stopped but then MC freezes. I'm just slightly lost now... :(
0 toad1000234 Posted October 1, 2012 Author Posted October 1, 2012 AND SUCCESS!!!!! thank you all for helping me!! It works, by the way! :D
