OK, here's some stuff to try.

Go to your Roaming/.techniclauncher folder, see if it created a .jar file. If it did, great, just manually run that file and you are golden. If not, go to http://www.technicpack.net/download/ and manually download the .jar file from there (the option is Linux/JAR File). If it saves as a zip, just rename the extention from .zip to .jar and it'll be fine. Put that in the .techniclauncher folder and run it manually (use the Java Runtime option under "Open With") and you SHOULD be good.

I am getting a “Technic Launcher has Stopped Working Error”!

If your launcher is encountering this error, a solution is to download the .jar file from http://www.technicpack.net/download/ (pick the third from the left (Linux/Jar)). If you are using Internet Explorer you will also need to change the file extension (the ending of the file) to .jar instead of .zip. Once you’ve done that, all you need to do is double-click on the file to run the launcher.

OP:

My suggestion:

Uninstall Java, then delete your .techniclauncher folder. Restart your computer (it's not required, but it never hurts to give it a break)

Reinstall the correct version of Java for you computer (ensure the bit type matches)

Redownload the Launcher.

Try to run the .exe, if this does not work, look in your .techniclauncher folder, make sure you have a .jar file in there.

If you do not, and the .exe doesn't work, do this:

If double click doesn't work:

Right click on the .jar file, open with Java.

If none of those work, try running as administrator.

Why does that last part look so familiar?

First of all, this is my bug report and second of all, i wouldn't have to beg if you and your friend Ashzification wouldn't fight about copy and paste crap on EVERY bug report about this problem. Post something that's actually helpful and not just a mess of things that were already posted on other reports. So would you please help me out here cause you're the expert.

We post these things, because if done properly, they fix 80-90% of ALL launcher issues.

More often than not people say "I've tried everything" and haven't done a damned thing, and don't have the foggiest idea as how to troubleshoot.

Did you try maybe, trying the suggestions, as suggested?

When I tried to launch the .jar file with java it said "Unable to launch the application". then i clicked on a button that said Details and there was a thing that said "Error: The following required field is missing from the launch file: <jnlp> Also under that there was a bunch of random symbols and stuff.
