TK381
Well, I was just wondering in tekkit, was tin to iron conversion using tin to make buckets then in a alloy furnace a unintended effect, or did they purposefully do this, and is it going to be removed in the next update? gavjenks
it would be easier to answer your question if it was anything approaching English. However, ore rarities are roughly as follows: Tin: 3944 Iron: 4373 Copper: 5114 So tin is actually RARER than iron, and it is perfectly reasonable to allow people to make buckets out of it. TK381
But is it reasonable to allow them to convert tin into iron? Why wouldn't they make two different buckets, tin buckets and buckets, or tin buckets and iron buckets? My question was never answered, is this a unintended side effect or no? Chadbrochill2
They obviously intended tin to be craftable into buckets, and yes its reasonable because tin is rarer than iron. Yes, it is odd that using IC2 and RP2 we can magically perform a bit of nuclear fission to create Fe from Tin, but this is Minecraft, not real life, and having two different objects that do the exact same thing would be unnecessary.
