eoden13 Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 I am still learning how to use everything in the Tekkit Pack and I was wondering if anyone had a list of everything the buildCraft Engines could power? I know it will work with the BuildCraft Machines, Forestry Machines, Maybe Railcraft? I didn't know if it could cross over to the IC2 stuff or if there was anything I was missing. thanks!
JackNapierX Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Basically just BuildCraft and Forestry machines. Technic does include a Power Converters mod to switch from MJ to EU and back.
MechaCrash Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Tekkit has the power converters. Technic does not, because the power converters are not compatible with the 3.X branch of Buildcraft, which is what Technic uses.
eoden13 Posted March 12, 2012 Author Posted March 12, 2012 awesome, I thought there had to be a way to connect everything together. thank you
Beer Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Right. I learned this recently and I've been using Technic for awhile. You can convert EU to MJ by connecting your Industrialcraft power to an electrical engine which is part of Forestry. The electrical engine will emit MJ which you can use for buildcraft stuff. This is pretty handy if you don't want to mess around with having to pump oil or supply coal to steam engines (or build a massive block of redpower engines). Also, Industrialcraft has a far superior way of storing and providing energy. I say this though, with very little knowledge of how blutricity works. Mostly because I have no desire to know.
eoden13 Posted March 14, 2012 Author Posted March 14, 2012 I tried building the basic low voltage power converter but nothing came up in the crafting table window.... but I see it in the item inventory window... is it a different recipe then the websites/wiki say?

I'm assuming you're playing Tekkit, because unless you're talking about an LV transformer, power converters did not make it into technic. What you can do, is select the block on the right, hit R to get the recipe, and follow it. It should work.
eoden13 Posted March 14, 2012 Author Posted March 14, 2012 You are correct I am referring to Tekkit and thanks. I didn't realize I could look at the recipe in game and I was building it wrong. thank you!
