after running technic will I have to uninstall everytime i want to play?

I don't think so, although as a matter of practicality and quality I suggest you switch to a more reliable and functional antivirus. Avast! is quite nice.

its what my dad pays for.

ill need to ask his permission because he has the subscription info for AVG and id have to reenter them

O_o Your dad should not be in charge of a computer. AVG isn't even very good as a free antivirus, to pay for it is madness.

Didnt work at all. uninstalled AVG,

even disabled Windows Firewall too.

nothing.

i start it up and its like nothing happens...

it still doesnt show up even on the processes list anywhere.

You might need to redownload the launcher itself without AVG installed.

.... i know enough about computers to know that doing that would solve nothing at all...

nothing in the launcher coding would change depending on what firewall or antivirus i have....

No, but AVG likes to meddle with things. It's possible that the download wasn't actually completed.

I got it to work my changing the extension of the .Zip file of the linux version to .Jar... but it ran with little memory and crashed on me.

I downloaded it using my phone and transfered it to the computer.

beats me, ive tried everything from deleting all the minecraft and technic stuff and even to try and make a server, make a new account and install technic and minecraft... nothing. it seems like us windows 32 bit users are unable to use technic.

If you had actually searched the issue, the common factor is Java 7, with 64 bit systems.

Make sure you have the correct BIT VERSION of Java.

And 3 threadjacks before you got to making your own report (above quote is from one said threadjack).

If you're referring to the launcher, it is going to show up as Java. Under applications it's Technic/Tekkit/HackSlash

I did get the correct version. x86 denotes 32bit.

also I created the report before I even posted here.

Yes, this I know. I also know that (since I complied a spreadsheet with all of the acquire information) the issue is primarily with Java 7 users on 64 bit systems.

And I should hope that you created a bug report before posting here, as this is your bug report.

yeah I did, thats what I JUST said....

I was just making sure. Since you seem to

know enough about computers

Try this:

Remove ALL technicpack files. Every single one, check your downloads folder also. Then, empty your recycle bin.

Uninstall Java, make sure you have uninstalled ALL Java's you may have.

Restart your computer.

Uninstall AVG, tell your pops to get avast! It's just as free, and works pretty darn good too.

Disable avast! (just to be safe)

Reinstall Java.

Redownload the Windows version.

Run the .exe

If it does not, delete your .techniclauncher folder, and empty your recycle bin again.

Download the Linux/Jar file.

Change the file type to .jar if it downloaded as .zip

Double click it. It should run.

If it doesn't Right click and pick Run With...Java.

If it still doesn't work, run as Admin.

i did this when I uninstalled AVG the first time...

eh ill just give up for now till they release this real fix that is said in the common solutions thread.

thanks though.

If you are going to give up so readily, you should have given up in the first place.

That is how to fix this problem. If you have not fixed this problem after doing what I stated above, then you did something wrong.
