Hello30 Posted October 19, 2012 Posted October 19, 2012 A few weeks ago I tried to post an open server on the open servers section what I wrote did have a few mistakes. My server stayed there for a while with a little blue symbol, (which I think meant that my server hadn't been checked yet). Eventually my went from the list. Do you not get an alert telling you if your server isn't on? Was I not searching hard enough?
Bangers Posted October 19, 2012 Posted October 19, 2012 I made a post, I couldn't see any errors there and now it's gone. Would it not make sense to leave it online somewhere so that any corrections/edits can be made?

Would it not make sense to leave it online somewhere so that any corrections/edits can be made? What do you mean by "errors"? Just being spelled correctly, etc. isn't good enough. There is a detailed post about exactly what information you need to include for them not to delete your thread, and they just did a purge of invalid threads a week or two ago.
Bangers Posted October 19, 2012 Posted October 19, 2012 Sorry, by errors I mean anything not matching those guidelines. I thought I had followed the requirements in the guidelines post pretty well, even did some of the optional points.
Hello30 Posted October 21, 2012 Author Posted October 21, 2012 Look I read the guidelines and my tekkit server didn't come up so I suspect I did something wrong and I'll try again.
Hello30 Posted October 21, 2012 Author Posted October 21, 2012 thank for your comments please don't say anything else
Jorcer Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 thank for your comments please don't say anything else Why not? There may be more to add to the discussion
Bangers Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 I'd like a comment from a moderator or admin, Re: Why can't rejected ads be moved somewhere out of public view for making corrections, along with a note saying what was wrong with the submission?
Jorcer Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 I'd like a comment from a moderator or admin, Re: Why can't rejected ads be moved somewhere out of public view for making corrections, along with a note saying what was wrong with the submission? Because then they would need to go to the extra effort of listing everything you did wrong. What you want is more work for Mods and admins. Plus, by forcing you to go through your post, you are more likely to find other things that will improve the quality of your post.
Bangers Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 But that's the thing, I can't go through my post. It's gone. I'm not asking for a full critique, just a few words. "Not all reqs. met" or "Full of typos". Something as simple as that. I though I'd made my post pretty well to be honest.
Sacrieur Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 Have you considered PM'ing one of the staff?

I was talking with one of the mods (can't remember who) and they mentioned that at one point they had over 100 server posts to go through. Even given a small comment like that would eat up a lot of their time. Plus, if it is riddled with spelling mistakes, you should be able to tell pretty quick and the requirements are very clear so you should be able to tell if you have missed one. It could even have just been a mistake where they accidentally denied it. TL;DR Save a copy of your post to be safe, follow the rules of posts, mistakes happen. EDIT: Have you considered PM'ing one of the staff? That sounds like a very bad idea (unless you are completely sure you did everything 100%).
Bangers Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 I did indeed. I PM'd Maiden, author of the Rules and Guidelines for Server Posts post. And I was sure I'd done everything right. I did take my time writing it and checked it against the rules and guidelines. I really don't know what was wrong with it.

You might want to try someone else. All of them review server posts btw.
Bangers Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 Well, she(?) has certainly been on since I sent the PM, but I've invited a couple more mods to the conversation.

Bangers Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 Thanks buddy. It's a nice server and I just want to share it with people.
