Apple removed java support now tekkit doesnt work... vanilla minecraft does.

Launcher Version: 1.0.2.0

Operating System: Mac os x mountain lion 10.8.2

Java Version: java 7 update 9

Antivirus Program: NA

Description of Problem:

technic launcher opens but wont load tekkit or any technic. the tekkit window pops up then closes immediately

tried to reinstall osx this didn't fix it. either we need to wipe the hard drive and completely reinstall, or tekkit crew need to fix it so tekkit works with java 7.9... Minecraft vanilla app plays fine. but anything relating to the technic launcher does not.

complete reinstall of lion will not work it will come up to date.

this issue has been completely resolved, along with the malformedURL deal. I'm locking this thread to prevent further stupidness.

Someone doesn't know how to quote. Also, I don't understand what you are trying to say here? Are you complimenting the wonderful people who keep this forum clean? You do realise of course that it is not the moderators job to offer tech support right?

put this into terminal and you can run tekkit... only a temp fix. can someone make an app out of it or something

cd Downloads

export JAVA_HOME=/System/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/1.6.0.jdk/Contents/Home

java -jar technic-launcher-latest.jar

you can make a start script :

go to textedit

format make plain text

paste in that command stuff

save as: starttekkit.command

then type in terminal: chmod a+x then drag the file into the terminal after the space

hit enter

have that script on you desktop and double click it, it will say its from the internt but its not. i guess you should keep the .jar file in your downloads but that should work!!!!

why are you reviving a dead topic... plus this topic was created in october long before you ever created your fix which btw was last month. so unless i am suppose to develope some sort of time travel technology so i can search for future post. i have do nothing wrong by posting this as a bug which it is. also to note no response from tekkit team. + thats not how this is to be fixed. you have to remove every painstakingly hidden oracles JAva 7. then it will run as normal.

I am so sorry, I didn't look at the OP date, for some reason I ended up in this thread. Anyways my fix works. At least 6 people have confirmed so. Besides why should mac users have to downgrade? Were technologically equal in most areas.
