cyter
Hi everyone, I just want to give you a small tip for if you are using a quarry from the buildcraft mod. When you place your quarry, let it dig down 1 layer and turn it off. Now you need to place a water bucket in one of the corners. Start your quarry again. The effect of doing this is that your quarry can mine trough lava, since it turns to cobble or obsidian when the water touches it. Hope this tip helps you guys! Truculent
You can just place it inside the frame as well, no need to wait for it to dig a level down. The frame will hold the water in.

Yes, you are right. You can also place the bucket against the frame. Thanks for discovering this .
Reggubha
On a not totally unrelated note, I'd rather the quarry somehow mined the lava intact, so that I could use it at my discretion later. Sort of like what the IC Miner/Pump combo is doing.
Truculent
I don't think the Quarry will mine the Buildcraft pump "tube", possibly you can just put one in the ceiling over the quarry and run it to suck out the lava. Test it and see?
