The latest version of Tekkit runs on Minecraft 1.2.5.

As Valkon said, Tekkit and Technic are currently 1.2.5.

If you're wondering, a significant reason for this is that a number of the major mods in them are undergoing rather significant overhauls and have as such not yet updated. Just be patient and wait. It could be a while, but it will likely be worth it.
