"Update Failed" Since 1.4 Update

Description of Problem:

Ever since MC 1.4 update, when I try to load up technic or tekkit it simply says 'update failed'.

I think this is usually a problem with the antivirus. Which one are you using?

Im gettin the exact same problem here mines avast

Having this happen too, Using ESET. Disabling the AV/Firewall, nor Running as Administrator had any effect. I'll try re-installing the launcher.

i tried re-installing technic launcher but it still didn't work. what to do????? sigh.......

I'm not sure about ESET, but I'm fairly sure that Avast is one of the causes.

I may have seen another topic that was solved by downloading minecraft 1.2.5 manually, putting it in a certain folder, and renaming it to minecraft_1.2.5.jar
