Tekkit says Minecraft is 1.25?

Hey guys, im not quite sure how to say this but i have updated my minecraft the latest version.(1.4 I believe) When I play minecraft without tekkit it says on the main menu at the bottom left the latest version i am on. However when i go to use tekkit, log in and go to the main menu on the bottom left it says Minecraft 1.25. Is that right? I have tried to search it but i just couldn't find a simpler way of writing it.

yes, current version of tekkit supports minecraft 1.2.5

no, the mods from tekkit do not support 1.4.2 (yet)

Tekkit actually adds a separate installation of Minecraft for itself. It does not change your existing Minecraft installation. That is why you see different version numbers.

No, because the mods aren't ready for 1.4, as said above.

If you played Tekkit without mods, it would just be normal Minecraft, right...?

Its complicated, but its likely there will be no tekkit for Minecraft 1.3 or 1.4 unless they drop support for bukkit plugins.
