Difficulty picking up Loot Balls from Dark Matter Tools?

I am having difficulty picking up the Loot Balls, the black circular things that contain what you mine from using dark matter tools, rings, lens, etc, when I mine them. I may clear a tunnel with Mega-Impact mode on the dark matter hammer, and I have say 20 loot balls. It only lets me pick up 5 of them. Is this a glitch, or a bug? My inventory space is empty too, so its not a space issue. Thanks for all your help!

It's a bug. They tend to create loot balls that are clientside only, so if you relog they disappear. There also tends to be way, way more of them than there actually are. Don't worry.

When I use tools that create the loot balls I make sure I have my black hole band out to suck up the "real" loot balls.
