Try setting your chat to all instead of commands only.

Sorry Aether, that only helps with the Pixel format crash and possible insanely bad lag if it doesn't trigger the pixel format one.

If that is not the issue, go to your saves in the modpack folder (%appdata\.technic\modpacks\yourmodpack\saves\worldname), and delete the folder called ChickenChunks. Please report back if it worked or not.
