Batbox charging without cable and other weird things

Title: Batbox charging without cable and other weird things

Version: 3.1.2

OS: Windows 7 64bit

Java Version: 7 update 9 (64-bit)

Description of Problem:

First off, I want to say that I'm actually running Tekkit version 3.1.3. I got it from this URL: "http://mirror.technicpack.net/Technic/servers/tekkit/Tekkit_Server_3.1.3.zip"

Are there any new bugs introduced to Tekkit with version 3.1.3? I've only started using Tekkit 2 days ago since I just found out about it, so I'm not 100% familiar with it yet.

Actual problem I'm experiencing:

==============================================================

When applying power to a Batbox, I notice that if I remove the cable sending the power, regardless of what source, the box keeps charging as if it still has the item connected to it. Only when I restart the server does it stop charging.

I started noticing problems when I setup a quarry and used an energy link to send the power from the batbox. At first the quarry was draining my fully charged batbox in a matter of seconds. It was chewing up power immediately. The quarry seemed to be running at full pace (or so I think it is since I don't have any empirical data).

What's more, I had the quarry, and a few other machines (extractor x2, macerator, compressor) connected to the same output line. When I disconnected the line going to the quarry, and stood in the area where the cable was at, I would get hit by what seemed to be an electric shock from the cable. As soon as I restarted the server (by performing a 'stop') when I loaded back in to the map the "electrical shock" was gone.

Also, I have an array of water mills resting in water. When we first setup this array we tested it's input into a batbox and it appeared to be really good. After setting up the quarry and the energy link things went to hell in a hand basket. I dunked the water mills because of what the wiki says, "When placed in a body of water it must be underwater and connected with wires to an EU storage box in order for it to transmit power." I don't know if this description is accurate, but I thought I'd see if by submerging them I would get any voltage. Like I said, at first it was good but then something took a dive and I'm curious if it's the fact that I added the quarry.

Lastly, I am running two additional mods, World Edit and WorldGuard. I don't know if these create havoc on Tekkit so it may be these.

I really appreciate any insight people can provide.

Thanks everyone.

I'm not entirely sure about the BatBox charging, never unplugged it myself except to put in the MFSU. But the Foresty error is from 3.1.3 and has something to do with ComputerCraft trying to overwrite those items or something. It doesn't actually do anything so just ignore that. Hopefully someone else knows about the BatBox error.

Computercraft? Lolwhat?

The error message about forestry items is RailCraft trying to find the cans and stuff from forestry, which we don't have, and won't have.

Ok, so I thought I was running the latest version. Outside of the home page, is there a different area I should be going to find the "newer version"?

Oh, and one other thing I forgot to mention. If it change the output with the bronze wrench then the power (in & out) adjusts accordingly. What I mean by this is, as I mentioned before when I'm powering the Batbox, if I remove the cable powering it, it continues to power. The adverse is also true. When I discharge the box, if I disconnect the cable it continues to discharge. Only when I change the output of the batbox, does the power dis/charge stop. I don't have to restart the server for this to happen like I mentioned in the OP.

So my next never ending quest to fix my Tekkit problems is to find a "newer version" to run with so that I can resolve this little problem.

Also, because I'm so new to tekkit I thought I'd as a quick question about how to do something. Is there a way to hook up a switch to a Batbox so that I can only supply power when I have the switch on? I can think of a couple different ways, but I've not confirmed whether they would work. All I need is a yes/no and maybe some hint. I'm not asking to fork this original question entirely.

I'm running into all of these exact same problems. Is it possible to update IC2 within 3.1.3? On IC2's website it does not appear to be MC1.2.5 compatable beyond the version included already in Tekkit.

These bugs are killing our server.

Roger that. Thanks for the clarification! Much appreciated

Did you find a solution?

You kind of just answered your own question there buddy.

It's a bug in IC2, not something that can be fixed here. Have to just wait to see if they update IC2 for 1.2.5 (very unlikely) or wait for tekkit to be updated to 1.4.5 or so (will take a lot of time still, don't ask when.)

So many bugs with IC2 and others in 3.1.3, I recommend just using 3.1.2 as long as you can. Much more stable.

I keep trying to downgrade to 3.1.2, sometimees I can downgrade but then it says failed to update? I didnt even ask it to update. Then when I manage to log in with 3.1.2 either I only have 3 mods loaded correctly or I cannot connect to a 3.1.2 server. Please provide a better downgrading system or try to fix this.

This is only error message I could find for the launcher, [sEVERE]Downloaded 'minecraft.jar' does not matche MD5 of any known minecraft version!

My minecraft runs on 1.4.6

Ahhh 1.4.6 was just released today, huh. The way the launcher works, it downloads minecraft.jar from the minecraft website, so it will always be the latest version and then downgrades it to whatever version tekkit uses. The launcher doesn't recognize this latest version yet, so throws the update error. The creators of tekkit just need time to create the patch file for it, usually takes a few hours or so. Nothing you can do right now except wait it out.
