Wanting to start a new server

I have started playing Technic and enjoy it a great deal. My friends want to start playing too but I have no idea how to go about starting a server so we can play together. Is there anyone willing to teach me through good links, E-mail, or Skype so I can learn? It would be a great help

Well, Technic is single player only so you may want to go with Tekkit.
