Eyeball114 Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 I have 2 specific players that cant place blocks, open chests, or open doors. They also can not use chat except for /msg or /helpop. Sounded like lag issues to me. Which we are having today. I do /lag and where we are usually always sitting at 20 TPS we are getting as low as 13. Even after restarting everything and we are back at 20 TPS, the player issue persists. I checked around everyone and no one has any a quarry spilling out or pipes overflowing. We don't have world anchors except for a few in admin areas. Does anyone know what could be causing just these two players these issues even after lag seems to smooth out? Graziservers Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 What do you use for permissions. My bet on what happened: They logged on before you had a permission plugin this assigning them to no group. When you got the permission plugin it shows they have no group, as it only assigns on first login or by command. Try adding them. If you do not have a permission plugin, get PEX. Quote
Eyeball114 Posted December 11, 2012 Author Posted December 11, 2012 Hmmm. Ok well Ill tell you my derp short adventure last night lol. I added PEX before I went to bed. logged in, than realized I had to set up groups or else everyone was just un assigned. Now I deleted PEX right after that. And no one else was having issues. I planned on re adding PEX once I had time to set up the configs. I have also deleted both players Player data and the issues remains. :/ Maybe if I put PEX back in and find a default group config online I can assign them and see if it works... Quote
TheSpoonyOne Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 Did you remove Modify World also? Quote
Eyeball114 Posted December 11, 2012 Author Posted December 11, 2012 No You're the best Spoony haha. Quote
Eyeball114 Posted December 11, 2012 Author Posted December 11, 2012 Yeah I mean something with the basic user commands in it already. First time using it. Think I have it all set up right but when I try to add anyone to the group only a kind of "help" list pops of for pex showing me all the /pex commands. Nothing works though. Quote
Graziservers Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 The nodes are easy to figure out. Like essentials for instance. Essentials.tpa would be /tpa Essentials.tpaccept would be /tpaccept. So on and so on Quote
Eyeball114 Posted December 11, 2012 Author Posted December 11, 2012 Yep, Ive figured all that out. Like I said its just not letting me use any command PEX related. I do anything starting with /pex and it just shows a list off all pex commands Quote
Graziservers Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 Make another group called admin and give your self the node , * . That gives all permissions. Quote
Eyeball114 Posted December 11, 2012 Author Posted December 11, 2012 Also to make sure Im doing it right.., How do I add people to the groups? Ive had my server up for some time now so Ill need to manually add them to the default group. Quote
Graziservers Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 /PEX user NAME group add default Quote
Eyeball114 Posted December 12, 2012 Author Posted December 12, 2012 Just tried the above and still just showing the list of all PEX commands. No error or anything. Just wont assign anyone to any group. :/ And none of the chat settings are sticking with Chatmanager. Shows its disabled in game but not in the config file. Is there something else I need to do to the tekkit server files before hand? Quote
Graziservers Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 That is an admin group or an owner group admin: prefix: '&f[&3Admin&f]&b ' permissions: - '*' Here is a typical default group for my server, yours will be different. default: default: true permissions: - essentials.list - essentials.kit - modifyworld.* - lagmeter.command.lagmem - essentials.msg - essentials.message - lagmem.* - essentials.afk - essentials.homes.vip - essentials.home.vip - essentials.help - essentials.sethome.multiple.vip - essentials.home.del - essentials.delhome - essentials.sethome - essentials.home.set - essentials.tpaccept - essentials.tpccept - essentials.money.pay - essentials.money - essentials.tpahere - essentials.tpa - essentials.back - essentials.home - essentials.spawn options: rank: '1000' default: '1000' Quote
Djinnii Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 Just tacking onto Graziservers I'd usually put - -essentials.sudo.exempt for admins etc... Quote
Graziservers Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 If you have to exempt sudo you have the wrong admins lol :) Quote
Djinnii Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 You do know that it simply allows you to use /sudo on them right? it doesnt stop them using it on others? Quote
Graziservers Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 Misread, apologies. I'm on my iPhone. Quote
