I've got the same problem...My account is legit and I can play vanilla on the vanilla launcher. It gets stuck at "Loading Modpack Data...". Looking at the screen shot it's alost exactly the same. I am also on a mac except my OS is 10.6.8

can you log into vanilla MC using the normal launcher?

i have the same problem and i cant play with the regular launcher either. I also checked that minecraft.net isnt down.

Yeah, then it's not the same problem. I can play with the regular launcher fine.

unfortunately I'm not intimately familiar with macs. it sounds like a firewall problem, but since you're on a mac I have no idea what to tell you.

Oh, I just found that it's not a problem with the Mac workflow App, it's with the actual launcher. Still don't know what "it" is or how to fix "it" though.

I wasn't having this problem until i downloaded and ran the mac server thing from Caspertheghost, then i couldn't play online, i tried to fix it now it won't authenticate. (Note: By stating the fact about Casper's server thing, im not saying any of this is his fault)

It's something to do with a recent technic launcher update. I could play it fine before the update that made the splash screen blue as opposed to red.

One of the Mojang members tweeted something about fixing a login issue with the MC auth servers, maybe that had something to do with your problems?

Try doing a clean install? Any problems with the minecraft update breaking log ins were fixed on the same day. Could also be because you're using a dev version of Java. Might not be stable.

I have tried a clean install before. I might be using a dev version of Java but I doubt it. I'm using OSX 10.6.8 - Snow Leopard and it's a bit of a hassle to get Java for mac anyways. Do you know how I could reinstall Java, though?

I believe I have fixed the problem. (At least it worked for me). When I began to run a server on my computer, I began to use OpenJDK 7 instead of the Java SE 6 64 bit (Default) because it made it possible for me to run the server. That is when I started being unable to log into Tekkit, and just now, less than 5 minutes ago when I restored my default settings for the java, I was able to log in and play again. Just go to Applications, Utilities, and then click on Java Preferences, then drag the Java SE 6 64 bit back up to the top, or click Restore Default. Note: I am not a computer genius. This may have been just a coincidence, or dumb luck, or they have fixed it, but either way I just want to help, because Tekkit is awesome, and not being able to play it sucks. So I really hope this helped, and if it didn't then I'm sorry. Note: I have Snow Leopard, not Lion.

Edit: This Works!!!

GUYS, I THINK I FIXED IT! sorry if this doesnt work for you but it seemed to work for me.

1. Delete your technic launcher folder by going to users-{your username}-library-application support and delete technic launcher (if you want to keep worlds go into that folder and back up the saves folders in tekkit or technicssp, whichever one you play)

2. Restart your computer

3. Go into users-{your username}-Applications-Utilities-Java preferences and click "restore to defaults" if this does nothing move the "OpenJDK 7" to the bottom and un tick it.

4. Re download technic launcher, open it up, select a mod pack and log in. it should let you and it will re download everything.

Message me if you have any problems :)

YAY! It worked perfectly! Except...the only thing is the address User > {yourusername} > Applications > Utilities > Java preferences is incorrect. The applications folder you're looking for is in Macintosh HD, not {yourusername}.

Thank you so much!
