fr2l0ud Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 In Tekkit singleplayer, I made a 6-Directional engine and made sure it worked. It did, so then I continued making my ship and I started with body frame, I didn't put any covers or panels yet but it won't move. Is there a size limit to what frame can move?
Guest Ysharma Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 there is, but i believe its like 5000 blocks, i think you placed frames somewhere which jammed the ship, post pics please
thebird Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 The limit is actually 1,000 blocks, in 3.1.2 at least. I don't know if it is different in later versions. This can be changed in the RP2 config.
GreenWolf13 Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 Yeah, it's pretty easy to hit the defualt limit on max frame ship size. 1000 blocks seems like a lot, but it's actually not that much. I'd say that a normal fram ship would hit max block limit before it got larger than a 12x12x12 (1000 blocks = 10x10x10. Add the needed space for cables and motors, and you get approximately 12x12x12, depending on how you build your inchworm drive)
thebird Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 is there a way to up the limit? Yes, look in the Redpower config. You want to change "linksize=1000" I believe.
fr2l0ud Posted January 1, 2013 Author Posted January 1, 2013 Yes, look in the Redpower config. You want to change "linksize=1000" I believe. made my tekkit crash
thebird Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 where can i find the config? You're playing Tekkit in singleplayer mode right? If that is true, then the path on Windows 7 is: %appdata%\.techniclauncher\tekkit\redpower\redpower.cfg Otherwise, look for the "redpower" folder in the server's directory.
fr2l0ud Posted January 1, 2013 Author Posted January 1, 2013 when i change it it makes my tekkit crash
thebird Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 when i change it it makes my tekkit crash I am sorry to hear that. I just tested it on my computer and had no crashes. I do not know why you are having crashes. Does it still crash if you change it back?
The_DarthMoogle Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 Do not play Tekkit on your own. Weird inexplicable things happen, trust me on this. Either you edit this on a server, or you play on a Technic world and edit the config as per usual.
Markarthian Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 Notepad can mess up the config file, if you were using that, I suggest using Notepad++
Kommunističeskiĭ Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 Make one engine for every part of the ship, and you've got yourself a bigger ship. It will lag badly, but it's a Minecraft SPACE SHIP so it's worth it. Either way, efficient and tidy design is crucial.
