madjack6603 Posted December 24, 2019 Posted December 24, 2019 Hello. I am currently unable to connect to my own server, but all of my friends can. I have no idea what the issue is, but I am assuming it has something to do with my own PC. I am hosting the server on a separate laptop that is successfully port-forwarded. I have tried connecting from both localhost and the correct IP, and both of them give this error: Java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out: no further information I have been trying to figure this out for five hours, to no avail. Please help me Quote
MajinBluee Posted January 14, 2020 Posted January 14, 2020 I dont really know how to help you but what I do know is that port forwarding makes your PC vulnerable to hackers that want to get into your PC. I recommend you to turn it off and find a better solution. I use Aternos to open servers. I hope I helped you Quote
JaariAtmc Posted January 14, 2020 Posted January 14, 2020 Portforwarding is fine as it is, as long as you don't open certain ports. Hamachi, for example, is a much larger issue, as it opens a massive hole in the firewall. Important things to consider is if there's still any firewall blocking java. If you didn't change anything, there might still be one more firewall rule blocking java, and you need just that one. With localhost, did you mean 127.0.0.1 or localhost? Quote
