EHAshe Posted April 29, 2020 Posted April 29, 2020 Okay. This is my first time asking a question on here, so if I'm not doing it right, don't hesitate to let me know. So I've been playing the DivineRPG Reimagined pack for over a year now, and I have logged more than 25-30 hours a world across two worlds. I took a break from playing around March. Now whenever I play the pack, the game will load up just fine, and the world loads just fine, but after 2-6 minutes, the game completely closes and the launcher comes up like it does after the game closes. Sometimes th game hits me with the "out of memory" screen sometimes when I bring up some type of menu, whether it be the inventory, a chest, or interacting with a mob such as a villager, but it's an uncommon occurrence. I believe it may have something to do with one of the mods (there are 16 mods in the pack), but I'm not very knowledgeable on the tech stuff. So I have no idea how to begin pinning the problem down. When I loaded the launcher after my little hiatus, the launcher had an update that I needed to do, and then my problem began. If the problem has nothing to do with any of the mods, could the launcher update possibly be the problem? I go to take a look at the crash reports, but the most recent one is from last August, so I'm pretty stumped. I haven't really seen anyone else with this kind of problem and I've been searching for possible solutions for over a week now. Any suggestions would be very helpful, as I've put so much time into my two worlds and I really don't wanna lose them.
Forum Administrators Lord Ptolemy Posted April 29, 2020 Forum Administrators Posted April 29, 2020 Not a launcher issue. Moved to Platform Pagoda.
EHAshe Posted October 20, 2020 Author Posted October 20, 2020 So it's been almost six months and I've gotten nowhere. I'm replying to this so hopefully someone can see this and point me in the right direction. I've reinstalled the pack multiple times but the problem hasn't changed at all. I load up the game and then any of my worlds with no problem, and then after anywhere between two and six minutes, the game just closes completely. No lag beforehand, nothing. Just a perfectly normal game, and then the game shuts off and acts as if I just hit quit game. I've never gotten a single crash report, or any sort of thing to look at that tells me anything about why the game is doing this. I haven't seen anything like it, and I can't find anyone online who has the same problem. All of my modpacks are doing this, so is it a problem with the packs, or with Technic as a whole? Because I'm completely stumped, and I'm not computer smart, so I'd love it if someone could let me know anything about why my game is doing this. The main modpack I play is Divine RPG Reimagined. Just to let you all know. Any help is greatly appreciated!

EHAshe Posted October 21, 2020 Author Posted October 21, 2020 I did some looking around and I found a log from when I made a brand new world to see if my game would close during a brand new save (I had a BUNCH of stuff in my main worlds). The game closed after six minutes. I have no clue how pastebin works, so I'll put it here. JaariAtmc Posted October 22, 2020 Posted October 22, 2020 Looks like you aren't allocating enough memory/ you are allocating too much memory. How much RAM out of your total RAM are you allocating?
EHAshe Posted October 22, 2020 Author Posted October 22, 2020 (edited) The Java settings in the laucher say 1GB. That's the highest I can since I have 32-bit Java installed. How much memory should I be allocating? I'll install 64-bit Java so I can go up on memory. EDIT: I've installed 64-bit Java. I can now allocate up to 15GB. I'll give 4GB a try and hopefully that'll fix the problem. I really appreciate the help! Edited October 22, 2020 by EHAshe Update
EHAshe Posted October 24, 2020 Author Posted October 24, 2020 I did some digging for some info that should be useful. I have 16 GB of RAM and I tried everything from 4 GB to 10 GB and the game still closes after about five minutes. The problem started after the Technic Launcher itself updated after me not booting it up in two months. Immediately after that launcher update, my problem started. I'm seriously wondering if that update is what caused the problem or maybe a Windows update made one of the mods incompatible. The modpack itself never had an update, it's still in version 1.0. The pack has less than 20 mods and I could list them all if you need me to to see if any of them would clash, but I've played the pack for over a year with no issues. This is the top part of the last log I got when the game closed about 15 minutes ago. Hopefully this is enough to tell what the issue is. # # A fatal error has been detected by the Java Runtime Environment: # # EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005) at pc=0x00000228ff999999, pid=9792, tid=0x000000000000221c # # JRE version: Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (8.0_271-b09) (build 1.8.0_271-b09) # Java VM: Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (25.271-b09 mixed mode windows-amd64 compressed oops) # Problematic frame: # C 0x00000228ff999999 # # Failed to write core dump. Minidumps are not enabled by default on client versions of Windows # # If you would like to submit a bug report, please visit: # http://bugreport.java.com/bugreport/crash.jsp # The crash happened outside the Java Virtual Machine in native code. # See problematic frame for where to report the bug. # FINAL POST I did some more research and I saw that Optifine has resulted in similar problems among players. I decided the only way for me to know if Optifine was causing my game to crash, was to get rid of it and see if it stopped my game from crashing. I made another test world and was able to play for over a half hour. I then jumped into one of my main worlds and I've had no issues. So it appears as Optifine was the source of my problem. I have no clue why I was able to play the pack for so long with no issues, but all I know now is that my game is no longer crashing. I'm willing to sacrifice the ability to change a bunch of small video settings in order to be able to play my worlds again, as they have truly been missed. All in all, JaariAtmc, I really appreciate the help you've given me! After so many months, I am finally able to keep playing the worlds I have dumped so many hours into!
