My modpack is just vanilla minecraft! I need help downloading my mods

My minecraft modpack Dungeons and Witches won't install for me and my friend. For me it'll just load the vanilla minecraft and not regard the modpack.jar (latest version of forge 1.12.2). My friend can't even load the base game. If someone could help me figure out the issue that would be appreciated.

Also sometimes my friend is able to launch it. Around 10% of his launches work while 0% of mine work.

For some reason the api is quote "Unauthorized". So it's literally the one named "Dungeons and Witches" with the red D & W.

If you are using the most recent forge for 1.12.2, try downloading and renaming the Installer to modpack.jar, not the universal. Forge made some changes in newer versions, and these seem to have been reflected in the latest ones for 1.12.2. However, any version past 2847 does not include any fixes or changes to forge itself, only changes to license and gradle build script (as can bee seen on the forge github page), so you could also just downgrade to that version and use the universal.

There's been a lot of users struggling with this recently, they really need to update the guides, buts its still rather confusing since its only the most recent 1.12.2 releases.
