cant place blocks... and no i am not in spawn

when i log in to my friends server i can break trees, dirt, everything and get the iteams that i should get. but when i try and place them i get the problem that it gets place for about a seccound and comes back into my invitory... please help! and no i am not in spawn i made sure of that.

Have your friend op you if you can, once op'ed, try to place a block. by default, it should work, if not, then have your friend check his permissions files.

I did not have it in the configuration file so I just copied the bottom into the configuration file and restarted the server!
