tin_dog Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 So, last night I was playing tekkit, got a server running on ubuntu, my friends all got on it fine, I come to start it back up this morning and it won't bind to port, i've changed absolutely nothing in the properties at all so why won't it bind? I checked my router virtual servers, all the stuff I put in there is the same so I have no clue what the problem is, anyone got any ideas? Thanks tin_dog
EzioA Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 Did you start another server? Is the port in use? Try using a different port.
warpspeed10 Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 Check to make sure you local ip has not changed. If it has, simply change the ip in your port forwarding options to the new ip, and set your current local ip to be static/ reserved. Next, make sure you don't have another instance of the server running on your computer. If you try to launch a second server through a port that is already in use, you will get a "Failed to bind port" error.
Teraku Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 Check task manager processes and look if there's another instance of java.exe even after all Minecraft stuff is closed. If there is, terminate it.
