The server has hosted a Tekkit Classic server recently, and that one worked well. So I can't really understand what's wrong with this one.

When I start it, it loads the mods, and then when it starts creating the world, I get lots of errors like this one:

2013-02-12 18:00:56 [WARNING] [TreeCapitator] Block ID <Forestry.log3> could not be parsed as an integer. Ignoring entry.

It then stops at: 2013-02-12 18:00:57 [iNFO] [sTDOUT] Loading NEI

Full paste of the failure is here: http://pastebin.com/kxuYw5UB

If you need more info just say so. I don't really know what info is needed. :)

I'm running:

Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS

OpenJDK Runtime Environment (IcedTea7 2.3.4) (7u9-2.3.4-0ubuntu1.12.04.1)

Oh, and I'm using Tekkit Lite 0.5.7

That isn't a failed start, the last thing Tekkit servers do it load NEI

I'm assuming you have tried to connect to your server, if you can't connect then run a command on the console such as list, if you get a response the server is fine and your ports are the problem

Yes, you're right. I was not used to the new loading order. I'm so used to seeing a "Done" :). D'oh. Thanks!
