pnupy Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 i was wondering if anyone could help me set up solder. i'm pretty sure i can make the mod library with a bit of experimenting and testing but i have no clue about how to set up solder itself. i already tried but i really had no clue what i was doing. i already have a modpack hosted by dropbox but its a pain to update. can anyone help? edit: i have created a server with serversfree.com but im not sure what to do from there. edit: i would be fine with switching to another free hosting service if there is a better one for solder. SeanWcom Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 I posted some details over in this thread a couple days ago: http://forums.technicpack.net/threads/solder-api.40185 Quote
SeanWcom Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 By the way, if you think the single file modpack hosted on dropbox was a pain to update, you aren't going to like updating Solder. It's much more difficult and error prone (for now). I'd honestly wait until the devs get it to a more user friendly state (which they are working on from what I understand). Quote
MinecraftrGi Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 About your host, ive tried it and its very hard to set it up there. Try http://www.vps.me/ they offer a free plan(Plan #1) (Yes, I know this post is old. Were you able to set it up? How?) Quote
pnupy Posted July 7, 2013 Author Posted July 7, 2013 vps.me did not work. there was an error with the phone activation. i think its on their end though. if you know of another host or a way around please let me know. Quote

miniboxer Posted July 7, 2013 Posted July 7, 2013 Yeah, I just found that out too. Try http://3jelly.com/vps/vps.html 3jelly seems to be a scam. Quote
pnupy Posted July 8, 2013 Author Posted July 8, 2013 Yeah, I just found that out too. Try http://3jelly.com/vps/vps.html 3jelly is blocked by my internet security so i am not even going to try it. Quote
MinecraftrGi Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 Sorry about that, It wasn't blocked for me. Quote
plokami666 Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 For my solder installation I'm using http://minivps.co.uk It's not free but it's dirt cheap and reliable. The pack that costs 2 GBP should do fine. Of course the bandwidth offered is laughable so you probably want to set up an external repo. Noted, while using an external repo, hashing bigger mods (8mbs+) can take a while. Quote
