*Bumping this thread as I've uninstalled/reinstalled Java, tried builds 218-221, and still nothing.*

I also completely wiped my technic folder as well, also with no results.

And I've heard the talk around the net saying that the JRE error goes away if you downgrade to Java 6, but some of the mods I need to run to play on my usual server REQUIRE Java 7, so I need an ACTUAL answer to the core of the problem.

Edit: Another suggestion I saw others make was to use the .jar file directly. Still nothing.

Heh, I've encountered this before. It's due to a lack of memory that Java cannot access. I suggest examining how much RAM you have and how much memory you are using outside of Minecraft. Then adjust how much memory you can allocate to Minecraft (up to 4G, but that's not usually recommended.)

Alternatively, upgrade to 64-bit Windows 7. The OS can handle larger amounts of RAM than 32-bit Windows 7 can.

Okay for people who are still having problems, Sharkys112 is correct, but the variable change has to be a bit different. Click on the video. After watching it, he states its for minecraft, and he doesn't know that people with Tekkit are going there. Since Tekkit has more mods, it requires more memory then regular minecraft, so instead of -Xmx512M use -Xmx1G or -Xmx2G

Please remember it depends on how much RAM you have, as somebody stated before. If you have a pretty crappy computer, I recomend Xmx1G. If your PC crashes because their is an overload of RAM usage, your computer can't run Tekkit. If you are using a texture pack and it wont run, TAKE IT OFF. BTW, for higher-end computers use -Xmx3G or even -Xmx4G, but make sure you have that available RAM at the moment. Just because you have 1,000,000 GB RAM (just an example) doesn't mean you can use something higher-end because possibly 999,999 GB RAM could be used at the moment, and if you alllocate 1GB of RAM to tekkit the computer would crash.

Bumping this, dont mind it. Anyway, go to Control Panel > System and Security> System OR View amount of RAM and processor speed.

BTW KIllthemill11 as I said before don't use all 10 GB of RAM (lets say you had that much) (that would be -Xmx10G) your PC will crash. You also need to find out how much RAM is being used at the moment (If your in windows 8 or 7 go to task manger [CTRL + Shift + Esc] and go to performance to see how much RAM your using.
