Fantastic Chimni Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 I have been playing on a LAN based server( Single player - open world to LAN) with a couple of friends while we were all at college and now that it let out I had decided to download the server pack and start one up. Everything is going well, I got the world transferred over correctly and now we're getting issues where commands we used in the LAN world would NOT be found in the server pack, such as /sethome, /home, or /spawn. This we found after only a few minutes then we shut down the server until we could find out what changed. After hunting through the forums and google I have no idea what the difference is or how we can end up fixing it. Any help or instructions you can provide would be very helpful, as I do not have much experience with running servers beyond simply getting the folders set up and starting the JAR file.
Teraku Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 The reason this is happening because Tekkit has the Custom LAN Ports mod. It provides commands like /sethome in LAN Servers. So you'll need a server mod which does these commands as well. I suggest ForgeEssentials.
Fantastic Chimni Posted May 14, 2013 Author Posted May 14, 2013 How would I install the ForgeEssentials server mod?
Malexion Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 So your probably going to have issues if you don't at least try to look up videos. Pick a forge version to match the mc version. Also how many people are you planning on having on this server? It might be wise to allocate a bit more ram.
