Coming from Tekkit 3.1.2 to 1.0.6: Questions

Recommended Posts

I'm used to having Bukkit come with Tekkit, and just being able to throw Bukkit plugins in (with some compatibility issues sometimes) and go. I see that Bukkit doesn't come with Tekkit 1.0.6, and heard in a video that it was removed. I don't really know what any of the other stuff (like Forge) is or does.

1. Can BukkitForge be used with any Bukkit plugin?

2. What other alternatives are out there for things like land protection, economy, etc?

3. What are some of the more common solutions among Tekkit server operators for this sort of thing?

First of all, I strongly recomend that you use MCPC+ instead of bukkitforge. I have found it to be much better performance-wise and less buggy.

1) In theory, yes. In practice, things break.

2) You could also look at forgeessentials. It has a wide range of features built directly into forge. The disadvantage is that you don't have the ability to customize and do unique things as much as the wide range of bukkit plugins offers.
