No place to put my ip address into the server folder?

Hey, Im new to all this and I just want to open a server for me and one friend so we can learn together, well I downloaded the tekkit classic server and launched it, the launcher loaded fine with no problems and says Done! then when I open the server file to put my ip address into into comes up with all the information that was on the launcher? E.G

no where to put my ip address? Please Help

Do you mean you want to put the client's IP address into the server? If so, you don't need to do that. Only the client needs an IP address.

if you are meaning to put the IP address in that the server should bind to in case you have more than one adapter or virtual adapter, that is in the server.properties files in the server folder.

If you have port forwarded and the server is not connected directly to the internet, you can find an option in server properties (use notepad to edit) that lets you put in your ip and port to bind to.

Yeah sorry, tryed opening server file, not server.properties file, then had to go into properties to make it open in notepad, windows 8 wanted me to buy notepad 2 to open the damn file! scamming B*stards

Download notepad++. Its free and a better version of notepad.
