Tekkit update issues Pls Help

So this is my first update running a tekkit server, I deleted the files/folders instructed on the website "mods, coremods, and config folders entirely, as well as the minecraft_server.jar and Tekkit.jar files." However when I log into the server with my (also updated) client I get this error and then it dumps me out (almost instantaneously). Can anyone tell me whats wrong? Its a local server so I'm connecting with 127.0.0.1 The only thing I haven't tried, but might is updating my JRE to 1.7 however I'm a developer (at least on the side) that uses 1.6 so I'd rather not if its not needed.

Pretty sure 1.7 is required.

I did run for over a month on 1.6 Will try 1.7 but I'm not confident that would fix it.
