[SOLVED] Issue with Technic Launcher: Load Library failed with Error 126

Operating System : Windows 8 Consumer Preview 64-bit

Anti-Virus: ESET Smart Security 5.0.95.0

Java Version: Java 7 64-bit

Description of the problem: I started up the launcher as usual. I decided to click on one of the modpacks (Technic). When it starts, the error 'LoadLibrary failed with error 126: The specified module could not be found' pops up. I've tried re-installing Java, resetting Windows (new feature in Windows 8, restores it back to a fresh state), but it dosen't work. This issue is with all of the modpacks.

Don't suppose you've tried clearing your cache or deleting your entire .techniclauncher folder?

@KakerMix I tried clearing the cache, and deleting the .techniclauncher folder in AppData, and it didn't fix the problem. Thanks for your attempt though.

I'm going to go ahead and say that that's probably something about windows 8.

This is the first time i've seen that error, and the first time i've seen a technician using windows 8 preview.

By any chance is there an oiption to run things in Win7compatability mode?

@jay? Good idea. However, when I do, Java SE Binary just stays in memory and suddenly quits. I tried Windows XP Service Pack 3 mode, but it has the same issue.

No worries.

If compatability mode isn't functional yet, i suppose your best option is to dual boot win7 and win8, and have 7 handle your technic stuff.

@jay? I am using a dual-boot, and it seems to work there, however I still don't understand why it dosen't work in Windows 8. They share the same base Kernel.

Out of my league. I Finally got to a point where i can use bbcode without their associated buttons, maybe a week ago.

PROBLEM SOLVED: It seems to be an issue with the ATI Graphics drivers and OpenGL. The exact problem is that it recongnizes .dll instead of the actual file to run it.

Nope. Just in case someone else with Win8 comes around looking for this exact thing, it shall be left as is.
