Zman6258 Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 With the new Tekkit, I can't make a battery box to charge batteries, so how do I charge them? I've tried using an Energetic Infuser, but that doesn't work. Quote
Tedris Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Storing power is different in new Tekkit, luckily in the new recommended version, you have more options. Take a look at the Makeshift Battery to start with. For endgame storage, check out the Redstone Energy Cell. I would recommend you look into getting Magmatic Engines for power generation at some point, I have a lot just feeding into cells that are used to power quarries, only problem is I still need to get more space in my ME Network to handle all of the ores coming in. I've heard of people using less just to run a quarry though, so check out the wiki and search around the forums and see what your options are. Quote

Tedris Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 use DSU's so much easier and nicer on the server xD Cool, was thinking about doing something like that, that would allow me to get a lot of ores in, maybe I should set up DSUs for what I make after auto pulverizing and smelting, I suppose that would fill them up faster though. dwwojcik Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 I always thought it would be cool to store the ores, then pulverize and smelt them on demand. Quote
Spudgy Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 You can do that with the ME interface http://ae-mod.info/ME-Interface/ What you could also do is put a level emitter on an auto pulverizing/smelting setup so that it only keeps a limited amount in storage. It'll still process the ore as you use it, but you won't have to wait for it to pulverize/smelt every time you craft something. Quote
CharlieChop Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 tbh whats the point? i just smelt and pulverize it all the time. ive never had to worry about not having enough iron for anything. if you use the correct process you can get a ton of other stuff like shiny ingots and ferrous metal. also, its better for storage since, as you should know, the larger the disk that is used the more space and bites each individual item takes. so for example, 10 items in a 64k disk take 16k bites while it takes less than 1000 for a small disk. (random numbers but they are close) ps: if you worry about never having some unrefined ore for whatever reason just save a stack of each on a chest. i honestly would love to hear why you (and many others) prefer not to smelt ores right away, when it, at least for me, is a great time saver for when i build things. you know how long it wouldve taked to build 4 max size fission reactors if i hadnt the tin and copper already smelted? i spent nearly 10k copper and a third of that on tin. Edit: wow, sorry. i just realized how out of context this post is. Quote
Spudgy Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 I process mine automatically as well. Was just letting dwwojcik know that it's possible, which might help him/her learn more about AE. Quote
dwwojcik Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 It's a him, and I knew it was possible. I wonder why these threads keep popping up? Sure, there are batteries in Tekkit, but do you need them for anything? That's the Tekkit Lite player talking. They have no use. Just ignore them. Quote
RealKimto Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 · Hidden Hidden Sorry I'm posting this here but I have a weird crash on my Tekkit and no1 has replied on it, and I've waited for days. Here's the link: http://forums.technicpack.net/threads/weird-crash.51655/
Tedris Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 I just realized that the original question might have actually meant batteries from the modular power suit, in that case the battery needs to be installed in the armor and the armor put in the energetic infuser. My statement about power still applies, the energetic infuser takes a lot of power. Also it would help to specify in the topic what exactly you mean as I was easily confused and went off on a wrong tangent. Quote
