I was merrily thinking up ideas in creative for my underground base, which ended up being a dark tower Ur-Ghast theme with tower wood, so I needed red for carminite. I searched bucket and decided to use molten iron, but then I saw this ''bucket o' blood.'' It is a placeable liquid that seems to have the same/similar effects as water, I'm just wondering, is this legitimately obtainable in survival?

umm... isn't bucket o' blood from Harken Scythe?

You can't exactly stuff a villager inside the Smeltery's GUI, since a villager isn't a pickable item. I could be wrong... but putting villagers or yourself on the smeltery directly (avoiding the interaction with the Smeltery controller block) wouldn't affect the input on the smeltery, you will simply hurt yourself.

Hrm, I could be wrong, I'll give it a test to be sure.

EDIT: Back. Still can't figure out how to get blood for sure, but I can verify that it IS in Tinker's Construct--I'm using a custom pack that has it but not Harken Scythe built into it. Still did get surprised that dropping Villagers in the smelting pit area produces Molten Emerald, though. I'll keep poking around--I dropped cows and zombies in there to no effect, so it's not from any other obvious sources of blood.

There's been some interesting old bug reports about Thermal Expansion metals being smelted down into blood as a bug, but from what I can see it doesn't seem like there's any real direct way to obtain it in Hexxit; it could be a 1.6.2 thing, as mDiyo can be a bit flaky about content consistency. You'll just have to cheat it in for now, I'm afraid.

Any chance we could get a screenshot of this wooden dark underground tower with blood flowing out of it?

If that's what your creation turned out..

Edit. Bucket o' Blood has the same properties as lava, just checked

And it might be made by putting a bucket in a blood altar, if you were wrong bout the T-construct part that might be it. If it isn't it should be.

Blood altar is part of Harken scythe, so that's why I said HS earlier :smug:

But since Leth states that he can still obtain that blood on his custom modpack without having Harken Scythe installed, then that means the blood must be from Tconstruct...

And the mystery deepens...:iiam:

I found out how to do this when i was messing around in survivail i melted some iron in the smeltery, then i fell in and started taking damage and blood came out, so i put a bucket in the casting table and it filled the bucket with blood

So, after experimenting after looking at this, the way to get blood is as follows.

1. Put somthing in the smeltery, wait for it to smelt.

2. Put yourself or a mob into the hole in the center

3. As you or themob takes 5 damage, the smeltery will collect 5mb of blood

I suggest that you put an iron ingot and an emerald to smelt, as that plus 80mb of blood will produce a pig iron ingot
