Title: Crash Before world loads

Version: 1_0_3

OS: Windows 8 Professional 64-bit

Java Version: Your Java version: Version 7 Update 25

Description of Problem:

Well it started out simple enough, I created a fairly good sized set of OpenBlock tanks rougly 21x4x4 to create one huge temporary holding tank, for oil, filled it up and all was good (Mind you it took a long time for my pumps to fill it up, but no glitches, nor crashes during this 3-4 hour period).

Anyways next to this tank, separated by approx 3 blocks of nothing I had layed down another bunch of OpenBlocks (~10x10x6 (for fuel the only link between these two large tanks being a refinery in the middle, with 5 liquiducts running under the width of the oil reservoir into the refinery, and then probably 7 liquiducts exiting the refinery and ejecting fuel up the side and into the top of the fuel tank, which was a good 90% full, and was in the process of building higher and therefor was adding a few more liquiducts onto the top before placing more tanks when tekkit crashed... no big deal happens all the time, I was thinking, probably happened five times today, just have to logged back in and all will be golden…

Nope, not this time!!! UGHHHH!!! For some reason this time it won't even let me load the world, I deleted my whole tekkit folder, re-installed, re-saved the world (I have backed it up of course) and tried again, didn't work, next I checked my settings on the technique launcher, made sure I had my version correct, checked that my RAM settings where up all the way (15gb's... should be 1000x more than enough... this is by no means a very developed world with mass quarries going or anything... Strictly non cheat for fun world that I hate to get rid of because of the time and effort I've put into gathering resources) anyways all that jazz was where it was supposed to be, next I look at the error report, my last resort because I suck at reading these stinking thing, and I know I must be missing something, probably something super simple too!!! Any help would be much appreciated! I have a previous save of this world, that I have tried and it does work, but I it’s very previous, like 40 diamonds back :/ yikes!

I believe it may have something to do with the liquiducts, or the pumps trying to push more oil into the oil reservoir which was full at this point (like I say was making the fuel tank larger, then was going to put in another refinery or two, so I could keep convert all my oil into fuel, after finding a particularly nice large oil field! Oh maybe I should mention that the oil reservoir had a liquid tessaract filling it also... and the fuel had a liquid tessaract to distribute fuel to my combustion engine power plant, although I had the fuel shut off because I didn't want it to blow up when I couldn't sit an baby sit it, had that thing explode too many times despite having each engine cooled by it's own separate aqueous unit!)

FYI also tekkit version is 1.1.8 (doesn't give me that option in the drop down menu)

Thank's in advance guys! Like I said, any help at all is appreciated! :)

Deer Lord man (hallowed be thy antlers) Edit button and we can hide that away XD.

Anyhow, It looks like one of the conduits might have got corrupted in the crash, if it was halfway through a tick when it died it could cause it. Try taking MC edit and removing the local liquiducts, then launching.

And I'd try to follow those crashes too. Fifteen gigs of ram is too much, it will die when it tries to clear unused data. Try dropping to 4gb allocation. That's plenty.

Thanks for the reply, I am new to the forum because I can usually fix my problems on tekkit lol :P So I didn't notice the edit button, it's hidden quite nicely I see, but I sniffed her out XD

Ok I will definitely try that, I'm trying to get better with these error messages and the lot, specially the modding aspects, my school major is beginning to involve lots of file conversions and stuff (even though its not even a computer course...?) and tbh, I think minecraft has taught me more about computers than anything else! Even though I ended up taking the old file and cheating to get back to the point I was, then going back to survival as much as it killed me to do that, and then started saving it every hour basically lmao! No more crashes at all though, so maybe its good that I am saving so much (because when I save it, I close down tekkit; than restart it, as a extra precaution lol)

Hmm that's odd, I never heard of it dieing trying to clear unused data, but I'll have to look into it, your probably right, and it may be part of what led to that unfortunate crash last time :P

Yea, it blends in. As for the lack of crashes, the rebooting with save would definately explain it. When you give Java 15gb of space to occupy, it doesn't bother going through and cleaning up stuff its not using from memory, until it starts to get too full. When you've got too much RAM assigned, it waits until its got an absurd amount of "Garbage" data sitting in memory. Then it tries to clear like, 12 gigs of active memory. At once. Suffice to say, its not really pretty, and usually causes Java to die. However, 4gb is low enough that Java can clean its crap out before getting suicidal.

Rebooting when saving Kills Java and clears the memory before it reaches the suicide point.

Ok I dug out the Ol' MCEdit, and updated her, than did what you said, and deleted basically all the Liquiducts in my base, took an hour or so cuz I didn't realize how many of the dang things I actually had lmao! Anyways it worked! I think I gotta take out the number of Liquiducts and replace with waterproof pipe or something, although I hate too! :( The reason being is because the same thing happened on the other version I updated this morning? after lowering RAM to 4 gb, maybe its the Liquiducts on this world glitching or something... idk I took all my Liquiducts out of my inventory and pre-made stock (about 50 :/... ) put them in a big line and deleted all of them with MC edit, I'm hoping I got rid of the issue totally, but if not at least I know what the problem is :) and I wanna thank you for your help! I never woulda thought of that without your input! :P

The same goes for me but mine has no crash reports and it doesn't involve conduits or anything. It might be the mystcraft mod cuzwhen i was going into another age, the lights went out and moments later, it came back and i open my computer and launch technic launcher and play tekkit and when i load my world it gives me a text "internal server shutting down" or something like that and it closes the game... plz help.
