Tekkit Server Error | End of stream | No Console Error

Question

Hi, now that we have got that formal bull out of the way, here is my issue.

Launcher/pack Version:5.4.9

Operating System:windows 7 home edition

Version of Java:7

Description of Problem:end of stream error

Error Messages:end of stream no error in console

Make sure you are on the proper version for the server you are trying to join. There have been development builds pushed for tekkit. If you have use latest dev build selected, you are on the wrong version. A big indicator would be when sitting at the main menu of minecraft, check what version of MC it is. If you see. 1.2.5, you will need to go to launcher options, select proper build, clear cache, then sign in to update/downdate the client to the proper version.

Also, is it just you or all players joining the server, or is it just a few players that are joining in a specific area. You may have an issue with too many items on the ground/area, causing connection issues on joining. If it is an area based thing, try deleting your player.dat file in the world folder(will clear your inventory) and then join the server. Then you can do a /remove items -1 to clear all the items that are on the ground being dumped out. Just a few suggestions for you that seem to be common problems. GL

how do you know what version your server is on?
