Ok, when I try to launch my custom modpack, it loads the files but it doesn't run. I can't even get the forge modloader window to pop up. I can't even get to the mojang screen. I just don't know what is wrong. I'v tried everything but I can't play my own modpack. Can someone please help me?

Did you create a modpack.jar and place it in the /bin directory before zipping the whole thing up? Although 1.6.x MC doesn't use /bin Technic still does.

Yes I did create a Modpack.jar before zipping everything up. But when I install the pack on technic launcher, it doesn't load the Modpack.jar

UPDATE: I looked into it a little bit and I found that every single folder in the modpack directory is completely empty except cahce. nothing in mods folder, nuttin' in coremods, and bin is completely barren. I've read and watched countless tutorials, but I still cant figure out what exactly is going on. When I download the pack through the launcher, it unzips the pack, loads the folders, but not the mods! I've even gave the page a direct download link but that still dosen't fix the problem. I put the zip in my public folder on dropbox.

If someone can tell me how to fix the problem please tell me as soon as you can.

I have the same problem but mine wont even download any folders. I have watched countless tutorials too but none of them helped. I have the tried zip and jar but nothing happened. In technic launcher the modpack starts loading but after loading nothing happens. I hope someone has the knowledge to help us with this problem...

I use 7zip with my mod packs, they work fine if I install them manually from the files downloaded from the website I store them on, but the techniclauncher says the zips are malformed when it tries to download them. I've a feeling there may be a bug with the latest launcher regarding zip files as I've seen a lot of people saying similar things about them.

Is there a way to manually install modpacks? If so, can someone tell how to do it. On some modpacks the authors would post a manual installation download but I cant figure out how to do that? Do you put the modpack folders into the .minecraft folder or do you have to do something different? If you can tell me let me know

Update: It's not the archiving that's wrong, I think it's something the new launcher. My modpack worked on older versions of the launcher. Every time I click play on my modpack, the download resets itself and when it's done downloading, minecraft dosen't launch at all. Other user made modpacks and the default modpacks work fine, but mine dosent. Here's a download link to my modpack zip: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/165900098/GiantmetalPack.zip

If anyone can tell me what's wrong, let me know and tell me how to fix the problem.

here is what you did wrong: you added more stuff to the modpack.jar than just Froge, and Forge does not like that so, it crashes as soon as it sees that the jar is modded

I did what you told me to do but I tried it on the launcher and still dosen't run minecraft. What I use for a modpack.jar is copying the forge zip and renaming it and converting it into a .jar file. I wanted to install single player commands, i feel like the modpack.jar has to be slightly different than just regular minecraft forge. I can't figure what files exactly can't be in the modpack.jar, do you also have to put in the regular minecraft.jar or other bin files? That's what i mostly think why it dosent launch minecraft.

ONLY put the files from the forge uiniversal download in the modpack.jar. this is because Forge doesn't like it when more files than just Forge and Default Minecraft are installed.

I did what you said about the modpack.jar but I've tried everything I could but my modpack never launches. What is the exact problem I'm currently facing? Bad archiving, hosting, incompatibility with the mods, or there is something wrong with the technic launcher? If someone knows what to do, tell me exactly what is wrong with it and how to fix it

I looked at it, and you have ID conflicts, so change broken IDs and then put the edited configs in you modpack download.

How do I fix the ID conflicts? Where can I find the config files? If so, can you tell me how to do it and get my modpack to run. Reply as soon as you can
