so first id like to apologize if this is in the wrong place. i downloaded the tekkit launcher. when i click to play tekkit and it brings me to the minecraft screen it says update 1.6 is available for manual download but when i download it, it doesn't change the update and still tells me that its available. it says im using 1.5.2. is there something that im missing or not seeing to fix this?

I had noticed that, I think you don't want to update it because the latest tekkit is still on 1.5.2.

That notice is built into minecraft itself, its not related to the tekkit pack at all. Tekkit is not yet updated to the newer versions of the main game.
