I can't access the tekkit modpacks even though i can access the tekkit launcher

Launcher Version: 365

Operating System: Windows 7 home premium

Java Version: Java 7 update 45 the recommended version i believe its the 32 bit

Antivirus Program: Trend Micro Titanium internet securtiy

Description of Problem:

After i log in to the launcher i hit play and its pulls up a screen that turns white and pops up a message that says, "There was a fatal eror starting up minecraft and FML," followed by 2 lines of text Minecraft cannot laung in its current configuration, please consult the file c:\useres\appdata\roaming\.technic\modpacks\tekkitmain\ForgemodLoader-client-0.log for further information

Have you tried disabling your antivirus? Does the issue persist with different modpacks?

alright it works but i have to completely disable my firewalls, is there a workaround so that i can keep them up. My computer has been hit with some nasty viruses in the past and i would very much like to play this game without having to disable my protection

PS: Thank You very much Chefsbiran i didn't think to check my firewalls.

If your antivirus allows you to add programs or folders to a trusted list, add technic and the launcher to them. I'm not familiar with your AV however.

Alright i've gone into the main consol of my Trend Micro and i have put on the exception list, Tekkit Launcher, Tekkit Main, Java, Minecraft, BigDig, Voltz, and Hexxit,

However something is still causing problems, and i know it has to do with my Trend Micro Internet Security because i can play all of these mods when Trend Micro is taken down and then the mod-packs will load except in a few cases which i will get into below.

Previously i didn't have any issues with the tekkit excepting the AV blocking tekkit, but now i have been experiencing an issue where the mod-pack in the launcher fails to load. When in the launcher i scroll to the mod-pack hit play and a progress bar will pop up above the get more mod-packs, after a couple of seconds the progress bar disappears and the whole thing doesn't load this occurs when my AV is down and the only solution i can find is to completely reload my PC this isn't a huge concern of mine but i would like to know if there is a way to solve this issue as it is an annoyance

PS: sorry this is a big post im trying to be as descriptive as possible so there is as little confusion as possible

I had the same trubble

Open trend and go to setting then find the "exception list" then Programs/folders then add

the tekkit folder

Win 7 EG. "C:Users(AddYourUserNameHere)AppDataRoaming.technicmodpackstekkitbin"

this should make every thing in the tekkit folder and sub folder, this well tell trend not to stop any thing in this folders

But be warned if any malicious files (eg, spyware, virus, etc) are in there they all so be allowed to run too
