Custom packs come out as vanilla!

Whenever I try to download custom mod packs off of the technic site, the pack downloads correctly, but when I begin to play, I only get vanilla Minecraft. I was wondering if anyone else has this problem and/or has a solution to it, since I don't know how to work computers.(I am so spoiled by automatic installations XD)

Sounds like the modpacks you're downloading were made incorrectly. Try contacting the authors and telling them to stop being bad at modpacks.

Ones I am downloading are highly rated(sure that wouldn't happen if it worked right), like medicraft, and/or have comments and reviews that say rather clearly that it works just fine. Don't think it is crappy modpacks. Plus my computer works great with games(Play on a heavily modded server on the other side of the world, only get a little lag) so I am not sure it is that, either.

The server on the other side of the world would be irrelevent, as your not the server. Unfortunately, we do not support custom modpacks via the launcher, you'll need to contact the pack author for support on their specific pack.
