White Screen While Playing(Not while opening)

Title: White Screen While Playing(Not while opening)

OS: Mac OSX 10.6.8

Java Version: Java 6 Update 65

Description of Problem:

While playing,the whole screen goes white and I can't see anything.I can see a little when I open my inventory or press escape,but I doubt that would be easy to play.This has happened on other modpacks,and I could fix it by going into fullscreen mode.However,I cannot go into fullscreen mode in Tekkit Classic,and can't use F11 because that doesn't work on Macs.Please help - I can't figure out how to fix it and I love to play Tekkit Classic.

Update your java to java 7 and try again.

I am not able to,as my computer will not install any new OS X updates,which means I am permanently stuck on java 6.Trust me,I've tried installing Mavericks and it wouldn't let me.
