having some problems with the launcher

My mate has tried to give me help to get tekkit running but is out of ideas on how to fix the problem i am having

I have uninstalled java off my pc and have installed it again off java.com -

"Congratulations!

You have the recommended Java installed (Version 6 Update 31)."

When i run the launcher both normal/java all the mods apart from "vanilla" arn't showing

in your start menu type %appdata% delete you technic folder then download the java version of the launcher. i did that then every thing ran smoothly

I have done what you said, now i have lost the "vanilla" modpack in the folder.

done that several times with each of the browsers, I think that the problem with all the files not being downloaded.

got my mate to upload his files. So I'll get both of them downloaded tonight and give it a shot tomorrow. I'll Try it, thanks.
