Tekkit inventory issue

Ever since i started playing tekkit on a small SMP server I've been running into a very annoying issue with the items in my inventory. Randomly items will just refuse to stack as well as popping out of my inventory when i try to re stack them or use them. The problem also happens with chests as well and it mainly happens when I use the sort hot keys. So far it mostly happens when ever I place certain items in my inventory from mods like the IC2 uncharged battery or other items.

I searched long and hard for a answer but so far I've been unable to find anything of use other than a few random outdated posts.

I've tried to play around with inventory tweaks by swapping out its inventory tree with this one - http://forums.technicpack.net/index.php/topic,6300.0.html - but it had no effect. I would like to avoid disabling the mod but i will try that if i must.
