Problem with technic launcher.

I am new to the technic pack scene and i have a problem with the launcher. I go to run it and it says checking launcher version then can't find java directory. I have tried re downloading java, and the technic launcher but nothing has worked.

Usually the culprit.

It can be, yes, but it's usually a misconfiguration in that case. I've been using Norton for years with no problems (including with Technic).

You guys are missing the even more obvious. He's using a 32 bit system. Hands down he's trying to use the .exe instead of the .jar. All of the things that are most likely the problem are covered in the common problems thread.

My father uses the .exe on 32bit Vista just fine. That's not always the problem either.
