0 Jay? Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Yeah, buddy, it's great that you got 64 bit java, but did you get java 6 or java 7?

0 Jay? Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 I just downloaded it so i think it would be 7 how would I check that, I'm not very good at this kind of stuff chances are you got java 6. Google Java 7 specifically.

0 Jay? Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Re: you were right @jay I downloaded it from the java website which doesn't have java 7 (dafuq?) i'll tell you if it works soon It does have java 7, but you have too squint your eyes and look real hard.
0 DoodTheDud Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 I noticed when showing my friends the launcher that it seems to be normal to just go "No, I totally have the correct version of Java. I made sure of that not long ago" and never actually check. Why is it so hard to check for some people? Should be done just to be sure.
0 zaf1864 Posted April 25, 2012 Author Posted April 25, 2012 alright so i just downloaded java 7 and the same problem to go into more detail what happens it i click on technic it comes up saying "do you want to allow this to make changes on your computer" or whatever so i click yes and then it shows up with checking launcer version for like 1 second then just goes away
0 zaf1864 Posted April 25, 2012 Author Posted April 25, 2012 im re-installing java do i chose source code or development tools?
0 Gennah Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 It's really weird, this same thing is happening with my friend's attempt to install. I managed to talk him through updating his java to 64 bit (still Java 6 though, might try Java 7 next), then manually using Java to open the jar. Apparently what he's getting is a split second Command window, then nothing. Of course the .exe is a no go as well.
0 FuraiXblade Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 Hi, I am haveing the same problem where, after I have downloaded the launcher I click on it and a security message shows up I tell it to allow the program then a small window pops up for a split second that says "Checking Launcher Version" with a blank loading bar under it. I am not sure if I have successfuly installed java 7 (64-bit) but I at least attempted to. I'm wondering if maybe my MC version is a problem as in it is too advanced maybe? <--(1.2.5 is what I have) Any help would be much apreciated. Also if more information is needed I will gladly provide as much as I can. Thank you! NVM I got it working using another forum post: VVV Help Please, Laucher closes imediatly after opening (RESOLVED)
0 Gennah Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 I also managed to resolve the issue my friend was having by giving him a copy of my .techniclauncher and having him run the JAR in there. Still don't know why, but it worked so I'm not going to question it.
0 rafated Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 try "windows key" and "R", type "%appdata%", should be a folder called ".techniclauncher" and inside of it should be a executable file jar called "technic-launcher" , double click on it. should work..
