Fastest method of transportation in AotBT?

I've been playing Attack of the B-Team for a while now, and after two worlds where the way I generated it was unfavourable, I've found that the only real limitation with what you can do is the amount of time you spend doing something. AWESOME. So to decrease time spent flitting around between farms, biomes, mines and storage facilities and increase the time spent building awesome stuff, I was curious: what's the fastest way to travel? So far I've found that the fastest and easiest way is to morph into a bat and fly, but this feels sort of like cheating to me.

Enhanced portals and waypoints are both instant travel.

The fastest I've found without using portals or waypoint teleporting as mentioned above, is flying up (and toward your destination) then using the hangglider with the Shift key.

You lose altitude faster, but go much faster than flying alone.
