Uninstall and Re-download problems

Hey there,

 

I've been having an issue updating a custom pack on the Technic launcher (My Technic launcher is up-to-date in terms of build), so I decided that I would uninstall it, re-download the program entirely and re-add the pack afterwards..

 

Well, first of all, there is no option to uninstall the launcher.. nothing under Remove Programs for Technic and no uninstaller anywhere to be found, even looked where the launcher.exe is.

 

Secondly, when I tried to re-download the launcher from this website, using the Windows link provided, I came across this error message, which one of my anti-virus/spyware scanners is picking up as 'harmful' and is also bringing up the same page on a different web browser:

Something has triggered missing webpage on your website. This is the default 404 error page for nginx that is distributed with EPEL. It is located /usr/share/nginx/html/404.html

 

You should customize this error page for your own site or edit the error_page directive in the nginx configuration file /etc/nginx/nginx.conf.

 

Any help in uninstalling and any way I could re-download the Launcher, since it seems the page is missing, would be much appreciated.

Bump.. since it seems topics started after mine are actually getting replies. >.>

 

I'm really quite at a loss on how to resolve this issue and some help would be appreciated.

The client does not "install". When you run the launcher application it will download some files and put them inside of %APPDATA%.technic. When you add/run modpacks it will put those files in %APPDATA%.technicmodpacks. If you want to "uninstall" the launcher and all its data simple remove the %APPDATA%.technic folder. Next time the launcher application is started it will redownload the required files.

my friends launcher froze when loading up, always on the assets folder so we tried to uninstall but every time my friend tries to uninstall the .technic folder his delete box freezes. any ideas why this would be happening? or is there another way to install so it over writes? everything in the .technic folder is deleted except the assets folder, its what makes it freeze.

I believe some folders in Assets are synced with the launcher so it might just be that the launcher process is still ongoing, did your friend closed the launcher when trying to delete the folder?

 

Also if you're trying to delete it because he crashed when launching a modpack, it might just be that he doesn't have enough memory assigned
